Deus Ex: HR Ships 2 Million Copies

Square Enix has today announced that augmented role-playing FPS Deus Ex: Human Revolution has sold 2 million copies across the globe, just two weeks after its EU launch. An impressive figure considering that the Deus Ex has yet to launch in Japan, and an indicator that game sales may be about to pick up as we head into the industry’s busiest period.

Last month we awarded the game an almost-perfect 9 out of 10, praising Deus Ex for its satisfying, unique gameplay and focused approach to story-telling.

  1. I’m happy for them.

  2. still annoyed the Asda attendant gave me the normal version when i asked for the limited one, and i walked away not noticing!

    grrrrrr….eat game!

    • were u charged for the limited one?

      • Same price. I picked up the limited edition when getting it but they were out of stock so I had the standard edition.

  3. Just went into GAME in Manchester to get the sharpshooter and they were talking about being sold out of the PC version.

  4. and you can now grab it at gamestation new for £29.99 dunno if you can get it at game for that aswell

  5. 2 million sensible people out there at least. Great game.

  6. *waves hand in a ‘im currently undecided’ motion* Not really enjoying this game as much as I had hoped. I’m liking the idea you can either play stealth or just rambo it but it just doesn’t feel like a very exciting game at the moment.
Who knows, hopefully it will grow on me :)

    • Mmhm. I just finished it and while it’s clearly a good game, I just didn’t have fun with it. Somewhat depressingly, it felt more like a chore than anything else and I don’t know about anyone else but that’s not what I want from my games. Hopefully a sequel gets made.

  7. And it is the only game so far to defeat the mighty Zumba. :D If i had the cash, i would probably get this and try to use stealth before realising that the boss fights aren’t stealth friendly, thus causing me to swear a bit and starting a new game.

  8. I want it but I’ll wait for the price to drop.

  9. It’s £24.99 on Games website now.. So obviously still plenty of copies hanging around if price dropped fast..

  10. I’d say to devs, you want to sell shedloads of games, make a flaming decent one.

Not really a difficult deduction to make is it?
