A mysterious listing on South African games retail site, BT Games, is advertising Jak & Daxter HD Collection.
The Jak and Daxter series, developed by Naughty Dog, was a huge hit on the Playstation 2, with Jak and Daxter, Jak II and Jak 3 all receiving a great reception from the gaming community.
There was also Jak X Combat Racing, a spin off. A fouth game in the main series was also released, Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier but received a less than great reception. Jak and Daxter also appeared in Playstation Move Heroes, which released earlier this year.
HD Collections are proving to be popular with the likes of the God of War and Metal Gear Solid franchises being given the treatment. BT Games doesn’t list a release date for Jak and Daxter HD Collection, however, Sony are going to make an announcement on October 5th (tomorrow), teased in a trailer you can watch here.
No one’s clear on what the announcement is, so you can’t rule out the possibility of new games or game collections being announced.

Please let this be true, apart from Final Fantasy and the ones already done this is probably the one I want the most. C’mon Sony just do it already, with Bluepoint at the helm preferably.

I loved the first game but never got far in it (never bought the game so i was constantly suffering with rented copies)
my cousins had the sequels and while i enjoyed those with them, i do not think i would enjoy the game playing it solo.
(i did actually get to purchase Jak X but uh……yeah, i would prefer owning copies of the original trilogy)
however im not sure if this is really worthy of an announcement of an announcement for tommorows announcement.
i know the game is huge but its not that huge that it would warrant its own advertisement.
unless the announcement is Jak 4 and they also announce that the HD collection will be released at the same time.
but then for all we know the announcement could be God of War 4 (or a new IP from Naughty Dog)

Yeah, it would be a huge anouncement, but i feel that that isn’t what is going down tomorrow. Could be Home, could be… Something. I dunno.

Loved the first two Jak and Daxter games (didn’t play the third or Lost Frontier), they were really quite different; the platform orientated Precursor Legacy, and the more varied action-based sequel.
