Rift Still Going Strong, New Evolution Trailer

Subscription-based MMOs are on the downturn. The mighty World of Warcraft is starting to lose its inhabitants with a number of premium MMOs having to revert to a free-to-play business model to stay afloat, City of Heroes and DC Universe Online being the most recent examples. It’s not all doom and gloom as California-based Trion Worlds launching a new campaign for its critically acclaimed entry to the genre, Rift.


Despite showcasing numerous conventions of the modern day MMO, Rift promises players an organic open environment packed with on-the-fly world events and a dynamic character class system. Over the next few months we’ll be suiting up and taking to the Planes of Telara in our multi-tier progressive review, so keep an eye out.

  1. Hmm, looks interesting. Was thinking there for a minute it was on PS3 as well as PC. Still, I’ll be good to read what yours think of it.
