Earlier today we reported that gamers in the US and Australia were having multiple problems with the Catwoman DLC for Batman: Arkham City, including the game shipping with no code. Those who have emailed Warner Brothers customer support ([email protected] or [email protected]) have been asked to provide the following:
- A dated proof of purchase (receipt, invoice) showing the purchase of a NEW copy of the game (not a rented or used copy, nor a copy purchased from eBay).
- Your gamertag for Xbox Live, or your profile for the PSN.
- Your email address.
- A scan or digital picture of the package and game disc(s).
- A scan or digital picture of the code sheet (both sides).
- Your first born child, £3000 in unmarked bills, a video of you dancing the Fandango and Megan Fox’s phone number.*
Once these items have been supplied you should receive a working code for the Catwoman DLC which you can then download and watch as it corrupts so you cannot play the game at all.
In related news, Warner Bros has admitted that some Collector’s Editions have been shipped out with a DVD copy of Gotham Knight, rather than Blu-ray as was originally advertised.
Gamers in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium have now started reporting missing codes.
Friday will be very interesting.

If anyone wants M.Foxs’ number, send me a pm.

Well this is quite funny, not for the customers mind you, but it will definitely damage the image of game passes further, which is a good thing at least from this :D

Well, what a shitstorm this has brewed up. If this generation has taught me anything, it’s that (unless I’m absolutely desperate) I should never buy any new game on release day to see what now inevitable screw-ups or game breaking bugs there are to be patched. Day one purchases are going to become a thing of the past for me.

I’ve got to say that I used to preorder the vast majority of games I bought. Now I preorder hardly any of the games I buy. I think I’ve preordered just 2 of the games that I’ve bought this year (Killzone 3 and Deus Ex: HR), and only have one on preorder (Uncharted 3). It just doesn’t seem worth it anymore.

Disgraceful. A lot of non-gamers who don’t check gaming sites are screwed out of content they paid for then, really.
TheDeathAvenger
I wouldn’t say that, they could easily type something like ‘batman arkham city no code’ into Google and fine dozen of sites explaining what’s going on.

It’s things like this that make me wish their was a consumer rights watchdog specifically for videogamers. If such a thing exists already, I am unaware, but would be interested as to what they had to say on the whole tawdry mess.

Improper use of “their” Jiko, for shame ;)
Note – I know Jiko irl, so I feel it is my duty to point out his grammatical meanderings. Hope he feels the same way about mine…

Cheers chap, I’ve made zillions this week to be honest bro.

What a car crash marketing disaster.

Would love to see this make the national press in some way, to give Warner all of the negative publicity they deserve.
I’m so glad to see their epic fail, greedy so and so’s

Why can’t they just give the code to everybody who says they don’t have it this is their mistake not ours. I’m kind of worried i should get my copy today will it have the code or not

Hey all, just to let you know I have a PAL copy of arkham city and it does include the catwoman code, so no worries there. It’s the standard edition. Also, it only states a resolution 720p on the back so I don’t know where all that complaining has come from. Hopefully it was only a certain batch that missed out on the codes. I can also confirm that the game is utterly awesome!
