New Doctor Who Game Coming to PS3, Vita and PC

So, Doctor Who, that kids TV show that grown ups love to watch, is getting another outing on PC and also coming to a couple of Sony’s lovely gaming devices too.

I know almost nothing about The Doctor, other than how fun it is to troll fans of the series (it’s for kids, seriously) and that the Daleks make a horrible racket. So perhaps it’s best if I just pass you on to the BBC’s own press release:

Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock will immerse gamers in the universe of Doctor Who, allowing them to take on the role of the Doctor and River Song as they travel across time and space to save the Earth.

Sounds… interesting, I guess? Nice to see them coming to the PS3 and Vita, at least. Does any Doctor Who fan want to step in here and explain? No? Well, okay then, I’ll just leave you with this entirely made up conversation that two conflicting voices in my head had when I heard this news:

Who is coming to the PC PlayStation 3 and Vita.

I don’t know, who is?

No, Who is coming.

Who?

Yes.

What? Who is coming?

Yes, that’s right.

Make me a cup of coffee, you idiot.

The game is set for an early 2012 release and will be followed by two more that will be announced next year. It’s being made by supermassive games, so at least it has some good pedigree behind it!

Here’s a video:

Update: The video seems to be having some problems on YouTube, sorry about that. Hopefully it corrects itself soon.

  1. During the game do you get to eat fish fingers and custard?

  2. Who’s coming to ps3?

wait, you did that joke didn’t you?

    dangit.

anyway, it sounds like a very intriguing premise from the teaser there.

hopefully the game wont just be a rehash of the adventure games the BBC gave away, though they weren’t actually bad for freebies.
