The Best Buy website has listed Diablo III as being released on 1st February 2012 although Blizzard has yet to confirm a release date.
Set two decades after the events of Diablo II and features multiplayer an enhanced version of the Battle.net platform.
UK retailer Gameplay has also listed the game as 3rd February and a Best Buy store in Rochester, Minnesota also has a poster with a countdown timer.
However Blizzard community manager Micah Whipple has tweeted ‘We can’t really keep every individual retail shop from making up a date. Diablo III is currently in a closed beta.

I don’t think that date makes any sense with the closed beta still going on. They probably want to press the disks with all known bugs fixed. A day one patch seems highly unlikely for the Diablo team, although I could be completely wrong. I just asume that they want to get things right after such a long development cycle.
Also, February is Final Fantasy XIII-2 month so I wouldn’t pick it up anyways. :P

yep February is definitely final fantasy XII-2 month for me too. But I have got that year subscription with wow so I get Diablo with that, quite looking forward to it.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting this game for what seems like my entire life!
It might sound horrible but I really do hope there is a level reset once the beta closes and the game is released. Diablo is one those games that really puts you at a disadvantage if someone has a headstart especially in PvP.
