S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Is No More As GSC Officially Closes

GSC Game World, developer of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series, has officially closed down, which means that S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 is no longer an existing project.

The team from GSC Game World have moved on and already created a new studio called Vostok Games. This team is working on a new FTP MMO called Survarium, which is set to release at the end of 2013.

Ruslan Didenko, Joint Project Lead at Vostok Games said:

“The concept of Survarium is a next evolution step for the idea of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. we’ve been working on for the last ten years. Survarium will go way further forcing mankind to fight for survival not only within the closed area of Chernobyl zone, but also far beyond.”

Survarium puts players in world where Earth has suffered a huge ecological disaster and, going by the description on the game’s site, a world which is filled with anarchy as governments collapse due to the disaster.

  3. Aww, was really looking forward to it coming to consoles :(

  4. Gutted about this, loved the first 2 (yet to play Call of Pripyat). Very atmospheric game at times (though Metro 2033 is even more so).

  5. awful news, the STALKER franchise is one of the most engrossing series of games ive ever played.
