Weird Kinect Star Wars App Now Available

The Kinect Star Wars app is now available for iOS, Android and Windows Mobile. I’ve just watched the video they’ve released to promote it but I still have no idea what it does so I’m downloading it now. I’ll see you after the trailer.

Well, do you see what it does? No, me neither, aside from inducing dangerous imperial hallucinations.

After a play with the actual application, I’ve worked it out – mostly. You connect it to your twitter account (and Facebook, if you want) and it shows your feeds there, plus the viral marketing feeds for the game itself. Tapping on the two-week old tweets from C3PO and R2-D2 that display by default, you’ll hear quotes from the game’s menus screens. There’s a way to make it show tweets like the Star Wars crawl text too, but I didn’t read the splash screen in time and now I can’t figure out how to do it.

You’ve always wanted a way to read tweets about Kinect Star Wars, haven’t you? Well, you’re in luck, I guess. Seems utterly ridiculous to me but then, I’m an old misery.

You can get the app via these handy links for iOS, Android or Windows Mobile. It’s free.
