I think they should have called Prototype 2 “Production Run” but I guess it would only have been a handful of people who got the joke and most of them would only have chuckled lightly and moved on. That’s why I’m not earning the big bucks in games marketing.
The good news, for Activision, is that their blood thirsty superhero game is the top seller this week. It got a little boost by coming out on a Tuesday when everything else had the good manners to wait until Friday but it still earned its top spot admirably, scooping up enough sales to beat EA’s two FIFA titles to the post.
Don’t worry though, EA fans, that publisher still has a strong presence in the chart with three of the top five.
Here’s the full top twenty:[PROTOTYPE 2] – ACTIVISION BLIZZARD
FIFA STREET – ELECTRONIC ARTS
FIFA 12 – ELECTRONIC ARTS
MASS EFFECT 3 – ELECTRONIC ARTS
KINECT STAR WARS – MICROSOFT

And for those of you who think there are too many proper games in that list, just have a think about what could be at number 21. Yep, it’s Zumba, still at 21 in the games chart.
