Despite its characteristic approach to future technology, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will carry on the “Zombies” mode, stemming from its World at War debut back in 2008.
According to initial interviews, Treyarch is reforming just about every aspect of the Call of Duty formula (to what extent remains yet to be seen).
Open world battlefields, malleable story arcs and un-manned waves of enemy drones leave us wondering where the four-man co-op survival mode will fit in.
To give us a rough idea, the official Call of Duty Twitter account has issued the following image:
It doesn’t give too much away, as is the goal of a teaser promotion.
However, the inclusion of a rag-tag female protagonist suggests that Treyarch may be rolling with a cast of characters and settings that can be associated to contemporary zombie fiction.

I’m probably more excited about Zombies than Blops2 SP or MP, I just have such a laugh with co-op zombie mode.

lol I’m hoping they include Killstreaks too. Granted its the single player I’m looking forward to the most but all my time will be spent playing zombies afterwards :D

For me its just fun – in theory you and your friends should be able to beat these unarmed slow-walking necro-beasts, but no matter what you do, they will inevitable win – you’ll drop your guard, or be tempted by the random box even though you know you really don’t have enough time. Not sure where the addiction comes from as you’ll never beat the game. When playing with friends I’ve always had a laugh – someone will get the weapon you want, or they’ll go down just at the wrong moment – and the characters’ banter is funny, so too are some of the weapons. It’s not much fun solo though.

I’ve never been too into it myself. WaW Zombies was something different, the Shi No Numa map was exceptionally fun with 4 players. However, I didn’t really take to BO’s Zombie mode.

I purchased the Black Ops Escalation DLC pack, as the trailer for it led me to believe that it would be a full zombie story chapter, and not just a boring survival mode deal.
Was hugely disappointed, but still: Had they announced a full Call of the Dead-title today, I would definately put in a preorder.

however at the end of blops zombies zombies nikolai, dempsey and the japenese guy remembered what richtofen did to them and were about to kill him.

Never really got into the Zombies on Blops, friends lost interest quickly. Hopefully this will draw them back in, especially if Treyarch sort their frequent connection issues.
