Presumably a hangover from the overnight party that was the latest run of scheduled maintenance, we’re getting reports in that some unlucky PlayStation 3 users are struggling to buy things from the PSN Store.
It seems that the PlayStation Store is kicking up an error – reference 80023163 – when a purchase or demo download is attempted.
Sony have let us know that they are aware of the matter, are working to get it fixed “as a priority”, say it’s “some users” rather than all affected. Hopefully this is just a short term thing and everything will be sorted quickly.

Oh, so it wasn’t just me that had it, because the wait to use my PSN voucher for the discounted PS Vita games was soooooo frustrating. I bought the code at 10pm, realised I had to wait until 8am for the maintenance to finish (i didnt sleep) then I eagerly sign in at 8 to find that i couldn’t buy content.

Mine was fine, been downloading demo’s off the store all day :) Had no effect from the maintenance yesterday as well. I enjoy being a lucky one who is never effected by PSN cock ups :P

SInce the downtime, the store has been really fast for me – normally when I buy anything, I sit staring at the screen for ages before anything loads…

it seems to be random, i had no troubles connecting earlier, and i’m in the uk.
maybe it’s an intermittent problem.
