Get A Closer Look At Aveline In New AC:Liberation Trailer

If you missed it, Ubisoft officially announced at yesterday’s Sony E3 presser that the firm had been labouring away at a fully-fledged, open-world Assassin’s Creed title for the PlayStation Vita, sub-header “Liberation.”

Set in 1765 Louisiana, players strap themselves into the boots of Aveline De Grandpe, an assassin of African/French heritage. When the Spanish come knocking, it’s up to her and the resisting remnants to fight back, Aveline employing a number of intriguing weapons to dispatch of her foes. These include dual pistols, a sugar-cane machete, blowpipe, and of course, the assassin’s blade.

Liberation is due to launch exclusively on PlayStation Vita come October 30th, releasing alongside its PS3/360 counterpart.

  1. i dont know if its just me, but she looks like she would have fitted in perfectly along side captain jack sparrow in pirates of the caribbean

    • Yeah, pirates was the first thing that came to mind when I saw her.

    • Arrr! I be exchanging me gold for this fine piece here come Octoberrr 30th…

      Sorry, couldn’t resist… SO WORTH IT! >_>

    • I hope she gets to go to sea like Assassin’s Creed 3 does
(Obligatory comment about attractive female character meeting Sea-men goes here).

      • that’s a pirate hat if ever i saw one, so i would not be surprised to see her captain a ship at some point.

  2. I am tempted to get a Vita, the game looks good but three games aren’t enough for me. (a new MGS to be announced soon, watch this space!)

  3. Assassin’s Creed has gone all out this year on American history especially showing how America was never White in the first place, yes that means you racist kids on PSN/XBL.

  4. Why does my cynical mind think this will be compromised and that it’s critical reception will be good but not great…?

    • Even if this is as good as Assassin’s Creed 2 or the spin-offs, it’s going to be slated for not matching AC3.
      Just wait.

      • Aye, that is my thinking too mixed with a little bit of Assassins Creed PSP history. To be fair other than the iOS games I’ve enjoyed the whole series (even Bloodlines). I’m still hopeful for this one though.
