Wii U To Get A Version Of Black Ops II

According to the latest Nintendo Gamer magazine, Activision haven’t forgotten about the Wii U and are planning to bring Call of Duty: Black Ops II to it. In some form or another.

Apparently the issue contains a lengthy preview, stamping November as the date it’s coming out suggesting that it’s a launch title and will appear alongside the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.

For Nintendo, this is pretty big, if entirely unexpected.

The PS Vita is also getting a Black Ops game, although it’s a side-story style affair which might mean it’s actually a single-player side-scrolling 2D platformer. Might.

  1. Does no all Cod games come to the Nintendo plattform?

    • I’m pretty sure I saw one on Wii, yeah, so not such a surprise there.

  2. it better not be a 2d side scroller for the vita!!

    • More chance for it to be a single-player side-scrolling 2D platformer on the Wii U than on the Vita.

  3. Wonder how the screen will work in multiplayer, doubt many people would use gyro controls. If it used it correctly however it might become the main platform for Cod….

    • I don’t think Treyarch will do anything wildly innovative involving the WiiU control setup. BlOps2 will probably make use of the new Pro controller (if Nintendo really want to drive this home, they’ll work out a deal to bundle the pro controllers with this game, it only makes sense)

  4. My sources tell me that the Blops 2 on the Vita will be a RPG. I thought the Wii U doesn’t come out untill next year so wouldn’t this be a bit pointless as chances are people that are interested in Blops 2 would just get it on PC/PS3/360.

    • The Wii U comes out this holiday season. I’m guessing late October.
