Kojima Says Metal Gear Solid 5 Title Logo Is A Fake

Hideo Kojima loves Twitter. He’s got two accounts, one in Japanese and one in English, they’re great if you like dozens of photographs of whatever the game-designing legend happens to be doing at any point in time.

His latest use of Twitter, though, isn’t such good news. Kojima has used his Japanese account (handily translated by Andriasang) to refute the MGS 5 claims. Those logo title screens that everyone reported yesterday, with varying degrees of gusto or caution, are fakes.

Kojima said “that title logo is completely fake. I apologize to those who were looking forward to it” which isn’t a claim that the notion of the game is fake, for those pedants among you who wish to continue clinging to hope.

  1. As pointed out, and the first thing I thought when reading the headline, it isn’t confirmation or denial of an actual MGS 5 =)
Also – I want a new Metal Gear Acid! Yes I one of very few who really liked the Acid games.

  2. Will be interesting to see when it does surface, since we already know it’s about Big Boss and his Diamond Dogs group. That guy headed up a lot of different armies…

  3. Ah, catering to an over-eager audience of game-hungry folk is too much to resist for trolls sometimes. Good. *childish snigger* :P

  4. Liar!

  5. All together now – “FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!!!” LoL:D

  6. Just anounce it already!
