Community Round-Up: 21/07/12

Sooo… Whilst Gazza’s away, I’m letting Steven out to play. I hope this doesn’t turn you mad in any way…

Since Gazzagb is in Fiji getting his skin burned by the sun, and the toe shoe addict has decided that now would be the best time to stay in his office all day with his increasing collection of toe shoes (seriously, you can barely move without bumping into a pair), Adam the chocolate eater has drafted me in to do the round up for half a cup of tea.

Let’s get this over with, shall we?

A bit later than normal, because Youtube decided to play tricks on Death_in_Flamez, is the latest update on the DiRT Showdown tournament. As always, he’s got a video with commentary as well a write up, telling you all who got into the grand finals. Come along next week to find out who has won!

Despite The Dark Knight Rises being out, some of you have planned some meets.

Batdachi wants you to get your Bat on for Drake in Uncharted 3 at 7pm tonight, and then Rimjaw wants you to get very dirty then play some Dirt Showdown with him on Sunday at 6pm.

Also, Forrest wants you to bring on the Payne then play Pacman. Okay, I’m lying, he wants you to play Max Payne 3 with him at 9pm on Monday.

Then Captain Kirk is running a Whatever’s On Beta meet for LBP Karting on Wednesday at 7pm. Remember, you’ll need to be in the Beta to be able to play.

There’ll probably be the regular Battlefield 3 and Gran Turismo 5 meets popping up at some point, so keep an eye out for those. Though, if you want to set up a meet to harass or stalk other TSAers then you can do so via the meets section on the front page, provided you have 250 points as Adam is very strict. Or bribe him with chocolate.

Despite there being the usual Summer gaming drought on at the moment, we have managed to get some reviews done.

Alex gave us a freezing review of Ice Age 4, the video game. Seriously, it must be -60 degrees in that review.

I’m told that he demanded to be compensated afterwards, and that we gave him an egg to shut him up. Also, he reviewed Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD before he tried to do an Ollie over the roof of TSA towers. He fell off the board within 2 seconds.

Lastly, The Dark Knight appeared in Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, and got bat-reviewed by Jim, who was dressed as a Lego block despite us telling him that it wasn’t required. Because of him we had to restrain Peter, the big, Lego obsessed man child!

Aran highlighted an app on Android called Leyenda with a permanent red marker before he realised that we wanted him to tell us about it and interview its creator in an App Highlight this week. Also, xeroxeroxero claims to have kissed Justin Bieber, which is probably because he’s a really disturbed fellow.

Teflon brought us another edition of Community Chronicle which does what it says in the title, and is not rigged by Tef so that his favourite TSAers will win a private lap dance from Elder Mike. It’s not, and you can return my kettle now, Tef.

We discovered what you thought of Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD in this week’s Weview verdict, as well as asking what you think of Dirt Showdown. As usual, Greg demands to know what we have been playing this week in What We Played. Finally, there is the weekly TSAcast episode. They are 70 episodes old, you know, so feel free to shout at Lewis, Kris, Kev or Peter for any reason at all.

Time to see what on earth has been going on in the forums this week:

There’s plenty more going on, so have a look at some point!

Ratchet defeated Faith in a 4-2 vote, although one suggested battle outcome was decidedly peaceful. Also despite being defeated, Sephiroth received a vote last week. Uh…

Anyway, that means that Ratchet is now our Champion of Champions, and since I’ve got no ideas, I’m going to hand over to Tef for some new fighters:

Well, I guess a certain Lego Batman, de-Lego-ified could make a bit of sense this week. To
go up against him, I figure we can lean on Sony’s All Stars roster announcement of Cole McGrath, from last Sunday? So, there we go:

Batman

Pros

  • Kicks butt in a brawl.
  • The world’s greatest detective.
  • Shark-repellant Spray and other gadgets.

Cons

  • Just a normal man.
  • Never gets any time off.
  • Doing that growly voice all the time must really hurt.

Cole McGrath

Pros

  • Can control electricity, and put it to many wild and wonderful uses. Like making stuff blow up.
  • Despite erring, he has a solid, well-meaning best friend.
  • One of the Good Guys.

Cons

  • Bland McBlanderson with his shaved head.
  • Must pong an awful lot, since he can’t really handle water.
  • One of the Bad Guys.

That is all for this week folks, I’m off to try and avoid the Olympics as well as filling Gazzagb’s office with spiders and rigging it so that when he opens the door, they will all come out at the same time.

-This round up slapped across the face of Teflon by Steven.
