Hot topic this morning: PlayStation Mobile has launched today across various Android devices and the PlayStation Vita. But on the Vita there’s something missing: trophies, and ‘proper’ PlayStation Network-based leaderboards.
Sure, some games manage to incorporate their own trophy systems (like Futurlab’s Fuel and Albino’s Underline) but they’re not tied to your own PSN trophy count. Same with leaderboards – the games that have them don’t pick up your PSN ID.
If you’re really into your trophies and achievements, does this affect your buying choices? Will you only pick up the cheaper games, or will you avoid them altogether?
Or are you really not bothered about trophies and PSN leaderboards, and are happy to play some great new PS Vita games at super-cheap prices?

Trophies don’t bother me, leader boards are needed, but whether they’re official PSN ones or just linked to the game is irrelevant. No leaderboards on Super Crate Box makes me very sad.

i can take or leave trophies quite frankly.
i’m not opposed to them by any means, they can in fact add a little to the game, give you a new way of playing for example, or get you to do stuff you wouldn’t normally do.
but if the game doesn’t have any, meh.
i enjoy the game for the game.
i don’t have any platinums, and i don’t know if i ever will, and i’m ok with that.
i’d like one one day, just to say i’ve got one, but it’s not a great cause for concern for me.
not that i think caring about trophies is wrong, if that’s what you enjoy, more power to ya.

It’s not that I won’t buy a game without trophies but it comes down to which game do I buy, the one with or the one without then I’d go for the one with.
The games might be cheap on PSM but I get a free android app/game every day on the amazon store and have more than enough ps3 and vita games with trophies (partly due to ps+) to keep me busy.

After having played lots of games on 360 and ps3 with acheivements/trophies, I can say that this definitely is a big deal for me.
Accept that most others won’t take this approach…but I’d normally play a game with trophies over one without every time – The same goes for purchases. No sale.

If the game is good, I’m not bothered.
Trophies are a nice bonus to tempt you to replay a game or to persevere with bad ones.
Besides, they’re on the way eventually anyway.

I love trophies and like to carry around my portable PSN id account. Sucks that theres no trophies or PSN support. Whats the difference between these and minis?!?!? I might buy the ones I really really like (like I did with the Minis), but I cant see this taking off really. It just seems like a rebranded Minis sale

Exactly what I thought, re-branded minis make available to a larger number of devices.
I’m not sure I’d really have any minis if it wasn’t for the masses I got with ps+
