I hope you’ve all recovered by now from your New Year’s Eve shenanigans, and that your Resolutions are still being kept! It seems like an age since I was last writing one of these, but let’s get on with this week’s Community Round-up, starting with competitions, as usual!
No new competitions so far this year, but we do have the results from Mike and Hanny’s The Walking Dead giveaway. The trio of codes on offer went out to Quinkill, Project84music and me!
Although it got kind of forgotten under the weight of Christmas content, we do finally have a winner announcement for the Friday Quiz competition too. After compiling all of the results, the top five were:
- FalconRedux – 48/50
- BrendanCalls – 41/50
- TheBerzerka – 39/50
- Moshbag – 38/50
- Takyu – 37/50
A frankly ridiculous score from Falcon to win! He should keep an eye on his emails for his PSN Credit winnings at some point this week – well done!
TSA’s not quite up to strength on Meets just yet, but we’ll begin with the usual DiRT Showdown meet tomorrow at 6pm, hosted by R1MJAW. After that, Motalla’s hosting another DiRT Showdown meet on Tuesday at 8pm.
Motalla’s also back on Thursday at 7pm with Dead or Alive 5 and Battlefield 3 on Friday at 9pm. Teflon’s already got the meet up for F1 2012 next Sunday, so you’ve got plenty of time to get practicing for the 50% race distance Canadian GP.
Keep checking the Meets tab for anything that takes your interest, or if you fancy, you can create your own Meet provided you have 250 TSA points.
It’s still a bit quiet on TSA after the Christmas break, but Al went hands-on with Joe Danger Touch which is soon to be coming to iOS devices, and a first look at the new game Hundreds. There aren’t any new Reviews just yet, but there’s plenty of other articles for you.
If you missed it, here’s all of TSA’s Game of the Year 2012 Winners:
- Soundtrack – Journey
- Mobile – Letterpress
- Handheld – Gravity Rush
- Sports – FIFA 13
- Racing – WipEout 2048
- Bonus Category – Fighting Games
- Strategy – XCOM: Enermy Unknown
- RPG – Mass Effect 3
- Genre Agnostic – Journey
- Shooter – Far Cry 3
- Action Adventure – Dishonoured
- Overall Winner – Mass Effect 3
The TSA Community also gave their votes for their Game of the Year, which resulted in Journey being crowned winner. There were also winners for all the other categories as voted by the Community.
The countdown for TSA’s Top 100 of 2013 also came to an end, with Watch Dogs taking the top spot, followed closely by Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite. You can see the full rundown here.
There were quite a few blogs over the xmas period, but the most recent one was Alex looking towards the PS4 while reminiscing about KZ2’s annoucement. Peter also looked at the second screen possibilities for the PS4, and perhaps a controller redesign.
Finishing up, you can catch up with what the gang has been playing over the holidays with What We Played #86 from Greg.
Let’s jump into the Forums now to check out what’s been happening:
- Steven’s having trouble counting the votes for the Forum Awards this year, hopefully he’ll post the results up soon. Perhaps if we all hold up our hands so he can count on them, that’ll speed things up?
- The Screenshots thread is still alive and kicking, feel free to show off the graphical might of your PC, or drool at other’s if you’re still running Windows 95.
- Steven asks what’s your New Year’s Resolution?
- Gernboes is looking for people to play Far Cry 3 co-op with him.
- Lastly, share your musical taste as Sympozium asks what are you listening to?
And that’s it for the first Round-up of 2013! I’ll see you next week, bye!
-Gazza’s returned, all refreshed and raring to go, to write up this round-up for you. Lucky that, since Steven was totally AWOL!

btw what were the answers to the quiz?
teflon
At the bottom of each post, there’s a option to show or hide the answers.
freezebug2
I always thought that by clicking that option it came up with the message “Bloody cheat, try harder” or something along those lines!
teflon
I think the answers may have been added after the weekend, but the radio buttons there from the start?
Origami Killer
Well done to the winners of the comps!
And please Steven can you just post the results :P
MadJunkBoy

tonycawley
Lessons to be learned from the tsa awards thingy. Don’t give steven responsibility for anything, ever.
Moshbag
Well played Falcon, can’t believe I missed a week, I could have been a contender!
Takyu
Well done Falcon, interested to know which two he didn’t get? Pretty happy with 5th place myself, looking forward to more quizzes!
