Good news for PlayStation owning fans of Call of Duty: the first DLC pack, Revolution, will arrive on PS3 (and PC) in just two weeks time – the 28th of February to be precise.
Revolution offers a decent amount of content, there’s no word on pricing, but going by previous Call of Duty map packs, it should cost around 11 or 12 pounds. It’s included in the season pass, of course, meaning if you’ve bought that you won’t have to pay a penny extra for Revolution.
The four brand new maps included are:
- Hydro: Located in Pakistan, this hydro-electric plant comes complete with a lethal spillway that floods with very little warning.
- Grind: Set in a skate park in Venice Beach (the birthplace of skateboarding!), quarter-pipes and curved surfaces drive players away from easy cover and into intense firefights.
- Downhill: A ski resort in the French Alps, this snowy map is complete with a moving gondola system that can both offer cover and crush you to death.
- Mirage: Located in China’s Gobi Desert, this luxury resort has been ravaged by a sandstorm.
These maps all look like great fun, particularly the first two. They’re not the only thing included in the DLC pack: you’ll also gain access to a new Zombies mode map: Die Rise, which “drops players inside a maze of crumbling skyscrapers amidst a ravaged Chinese city”.
There’s also an all new Zombies game mode, dubbed Turned, where one player can play as a humans while the others take control of the Zombies themselves, only swapping when an infected player catches the human. It’s an interesting twist and should be quite a bit of fun.
Although oddly neglected from the press release, Black Ops II – which has already released on Xbox 360 – also features a brand new SMG, the Peacemaker, which is described as having the speed of an SMG with the accuracy of an assault rifle. Sounds good, then.
