Pottermore Announced For PS Home

Sony has just released a trailer that shows the Harry Potter inspired Pottermore experience will be coming to PlayStation Home.

The Pottermore website was announced in 2011 and became available to the public in April last year. The actual website is an extension to the Harry Potter series, with unpublished excerpts, background details on the Harry Potter universe, and various challenges that fans can take part in.

The trailer above shows people in Home being able to explore Diagon Alley and the Hogwarts Express, as well as take part in mini games such as quizzes and wizard duels.

This announcement shows that Sony are still trying to push PS Home late into this console cycle, so it really begs the question whether Home will be present on the PlayStation 4. Since this is quite a big announcement for PS Home, probably with quite a bit of money thrown at it, I’m going to hazard a guess that PS Home will be around next gen.

Maybe it’ll even be out of Beta Stage by then.

  1. You can link Pottermore accounts to PS Home which is a genius move by Sony, great well on brining in new people to Home and PlayStation as a whole.

  2. Didn’t get on well with pottermore, when it first started everything was a little too limited. Haven’t checked it out for a while though. And I got placed into Slytherin :o Might check this out though

  3. Sony make a Harry Potter game which every Potter fan who sees it will want to play and stick it in Playstation Home?

    Bit strange…

  4. I shall drop by and check it out, maybe there is some free stuff being handed out.
