Sony are looking for ways to add trophy support to games which have previously lacked the feature. Without modifying the original game trophies can be achieved and stored by “detected disk access”. This can be used as a potential trophy trigger.
Does this mean we can see trophy support come, in the near future, to PlayStation 1 and 2 classics, as well as those early PlayStation 3 titles?
With trophies starting to play a larger role in selling games, if this new feature were to be implemented we would most probably see a rise in sales of older games. I’d be sure to replay the likes of GTA: Vice City if it supported that satisfying trophy ping.

Great idea but finding the time to replay games will be tough. I finished GTA4 before the trophies were added, kept the disc to play through again but haven’t found the time…yet.

interesting!! *thumbs up*

Wish that meant you’d be able to put in your old ps1 and ps2 discs and they’d give you trophies that way too. I’d pay for a fully backwards compatible ps4 – might make me more interested in it at the moment.

COD4 is probably the only game i’d pick up again for a trophy run.
