Community Round-Up: 23/03/13

I’m back after swanning off on a field-trip in Malta, complete with sunburn and horrific tan lines, just what any Brit that goes abroad should return with. Anyway, let’s take a look at what’s been happening on TSA over the past seven days in this week’s Community Round-Up!

Last week’s Black Ops 2 League matches only finished last night, so we’ll crack straight on with the Meets in lieu of their results.

Monday kicks off with with the usual GT5 Meet at 7pm, hosted by Manorhowze. At 8pm, R1MJAW hosts a Tomb Raider meet, while the DiRT Showdown Meet makes an appearance on Tuesday night, hosted by Forrest at 8pm. On Wednesday, R1MJAW returns with another Tomb Raider meet at 8pm.

We might see another Battlefield Bad Company meet on Friday popping up later on in the week, and hopefully a few others will pop up too. Remember, you can create your own Meet provided you’ve got 250 TSA Points.

We’ve got a good bunch of reviews for you this week, so let’s begin with Aran, who gave Gears Of War: Judgement a 7/10, summing up by saying that “Judgment is a good Gears game but it’s not a great one.” Another game to earn 7/10 this week was Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (for PS3 and Vita). Dan left the game with overall positive feelings, so fans of the series should have nothing to fear.

Al continued the reviews with his verdict of Luigi’s Mansion 2, which not only betters the original but could be considered one of the best games on 3DS, with an 8/10 review. Lastly, Dan returned with Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, giving it an impressive 8/10 and stating it as “the best Naruto game yet”.

As you can expect, Teflon’s been busy with a a few big Previews, firstly Dead Island Riptide. By the sound of it if you enjoyed the first you can look forward to this one too. Co-op should still be a blast and there’s plenty of new zombies to go along with a more polished and refined gamplay style. Another hotly anticipated game is Metro: Last Light, which again fans of the first one have nothing to worry about.

Teflon’s last preview was of Saints Row IV, which sounds as utterly bonkers as you’d expect, while Kris went hands on with Velocity Ultra for Vita. Futurlab seem to have outdone themselves again, and it definitely looks like a game perfectly suited to Vita.

Jim also had a look at Atelier Ayesha, which appears a more streamlined game, while Alex wrote about what Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate means for our gaming future.

Moving onto the Community articles, Al showed off his clutter-free gaming rig in the Chronicle, while F1 Race Stars saw a startling warning of 10 ‘avoid it’ votes in the WeView Verdict. God of War becomes the next game for WeView.

Finally, you can pick up Episode 94 of the Podcast, or have a read of What We Played #97 to see what the TSA Team have been up to.

Time to head on into the Forums and see what’s been going on:

That’s it once again, and next week I’ll be handing it over to our resident lunatic. Some say if George Osborne were to give him a job, the whole economic crisis would be solved and we would be free from constant job update threads. All we know is he’s called Steven (That’s the best I could come up with, Steven if you wanted a Stig-style introduction you should’ve given me a bit more of a warning!). Anyway, I’ll see you all soon!

-The nicely tanned Gazzagb came back from Malta specially to do this round-up for you all.

  1. Bet you’re glad that you can top-up your tan with this wonderful British spring weather ;)

  2. Ha! That’s a long wait for biscuits Tef lol

    • Actually it’s Gazza who writes these things most of the time, and he’s the poor soul who had to wait all these years!

      • You know that pile of biscuits that i found down the back of the counch in the Community team office? They didn’t happen to be Gazzagb’s backlog of owed biscuits are they? As i did chuck them away a few days ago.

  3. Steven was born? O_O

i’d always assumed he was created in some lab somewhere by your typical wild haired mad scientist type.
    ^_^

    belated, happy birthday Steven.
always worth celebrating the entry into our world, however it was achieved, of somebody like Steven, i mean, what would TSA be like without its resident nutter. ^_^

    • Hey, he was born alright!! Born in a dark and mysterious cellar I call home!!
things is created! men are born!!
and i may be Mad but im not wild haired!! :P :P

    • Some say that i wasn’t born but just came into existence and that i am 90% horse and duck meat. All i know is that i’m doing the round up next week.

  4. Hell of a story from theshockwave.

Lovely round-up too, Tef. Always appreciated.

    • Sorry. I’ve just realised. Tef merely hit the Publish button. Gazzagb put in all of the hard work. Thanks, Gazza.

      Tef… you are a charlatan.

      • Is that what you call Charlie Chaplin impersonators?

  5. Can’t host a BC meet this week, as i am out on Friday (yes, its one of those rare occasions where i subject myself to some fresh air!). Someone is welcome to host in my absence though if they like.

The next meet i will be running will be 5th April. :)

  6. Some say that he is scared by Dark Souls 2 and that he invented biscuits. Some say that he could take over the world in mere seconds but so far, have chosen not to and that he is actually Tef’s beard. All we know is that he’s not the Stig but our sometimes tame resident crazy.

    • ‘tame’ would be the last word I’d use to describe you!

      • Well, he’s tame in the sense that there’s no fanboy instinct in him!

      • I will admit to being a PG tips fanboy. If you hate PG tips or hate tea, i’ll rip out your guts and skip rope with them before accessing your accounts to publicly embrass you. :P

  7. Anyone up for some Ace Combat: Assault Horizon meets? :D
