Rayman Legends Challenges Incoming

The Wii U is actually having a fairly good week! In the next five days Nintendo fans can look forward to the arrival of their virtual console, a patch to speed up the sluggish operating system, and Ubisoft’s peace-offering; the Rayman Legends Challenges app.

The app features the challenge mode taken from the main game which, though ready for release on Wii U in February, was delayed to ship alongside versions for the PS3 and the 360 in September. Following an exceptionally strong fan backlash, which was supported by both the Legends development team and Rayman creator Michel Ancel, Ubisoft announced that they would release the challenge portion of the game early to Nintendo owners for no charge in an effort to ease their wait.

There will be four levels available initially, which will include the Wii U exclusive ‘Murfy’s Dungeon’, all of which will be playable by 1-5 players and will rotate through daily and weekly challenges. The app will support leaderboards for each challenge and you’ll be able to race against friend’s ghost data as well.

The app will be available to download on Thursday, 25th April.

  1. Has the challenge mode got anything to do with that ‘Black Betty’ rythym-action clip i’ve seen? – that was awesome!
