Remember that mission in Black Ops II where you rode a horse? Well, I’d like to link that to a nice little joke about Tesco’s burgers, but it’s half past eleven on a Sunday night and my weekly bad joke quota doesn’t reset until 9am tomorrow morning, sadly. So, just pretend I’ve said something funny in the first sentence. There we go.
Tesco, then, seem to be as good as leaking information about the newest Call of Duty title – Ghosts – as their suppliers are at leaking horsemeat into their beef supply. Not content with showing us the game’s box-art before any official announcements, they put a succinct description of the game up on their site a bit earlier.
It’s gone now, unfortunately, but with the magic of the internet we’ve dug up a screenshot of the site, which sits nicely next to that leaked box-art in the gallery below. I wanted everything to be as clear as possible so I’ve added a Tesco logo and a silly man doing motion capture with a silly fake gun on his silly horse for Black Ops II, just so you all know what I’m talking about.
In case your computer is (or your eyes are) doing that thing where you can’t view images, the description is as follows:
The franchise that has defined a generation of gaming is set to raise the bar once again with the all-new Call of Duty: Ghosts. Published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward, the studio that created the original Call of Duty and the seminal Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series, Call of Duty: Ghosts ushers in the next generation of the franchise, delivering a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast, all powered by a new next-generation Call of Duty engine.
It’s nice to see that they’re doing something different and the new engine should be good – they’ve been using an upgraded version of the Call of Duty 4 engine for this entire console generation.
Not only that, but they’ve listed the release date at the 4th of November. That might not be quite as accurate but it should be a good indication of when the next generation fully gets going. I wonder if they’ll remember the Wii U for this one, or even make a decent Call of Duty game on Vita…
