Mayday! Mayday!
No, quite literally. Today is the first of May, and it’s also a Wednesday, which means today’s the day that the PlayStation Store in Europe updates with its regular batch of downloadable consumable purchasables. We’re a bit earlier today because the three main games have appeared.
What’s new this week?
- Deadly Premonition – Director’s Cut (£29.99) on PS3.
- Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon (£11.99 or £9.59 with Plus) on PS3.
- Soul Sacrifice (£29.99) on PS Vita.
- Some Aliens: CM DLC (giggle) for PS3.
- Farming Simulator (yep) for PS Vita.
- A free Germinator Puzzle Demo for PS3.
- Machinarium (£4.79) for PS Vita.
What’s expected later today?
- Zombie Tycoon 2: Brainhov’s Revenge (£7.99) Cross Buy
- Loads of DLC, as usual.
What released last Friday?
- Dead Island: Riptide (£39.99) on PS3.
- Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen (£19.99) on PS3.
- Star Trek (£49.99) on PS3
- Black Rock Shooter – The Game (£15.99) on PSP/PSN/PS Vita
Remember that PlayStation Plus subscribers can get their (gloved) mitts on Hitman Absolution, Catherine and Malicious today. In that order.
Oh, and that Terraria is out in two weeks. So don’t ask for it today.
Expect updates to this post in due course as the games appear on the Store.

Over 28 gig to download for the 3 PS+ games? With Hitman being 17 gig. Allow for the “you need twice as much space to download and then install something” thing and, oh, crap. I’ve only got 40 gig left. No, this works. I just need to take care on the order I download them.
Then I need time to play the things.
Sorry, was there anything else in the store update this week? I don’t think I should even look at that.
Although if there’s another table pack for the Pinball Arcade, as the US store seems to have suddenly gained…

Sheesh, 17 (34) Gig? Think I’d best make some space on the HDD pronto! Thanks for the heads up ;)
Broonba
Aye, me too.
Like Freeze said…..cheers for the heads up :)

1TB hard-drive, baby. It’s the only way. I’ve got all installs etc plus all DLC, all downloadable games, all PS+ stuff, etc on there and I’m about half-way through the drive. It’s a bastard to run backups, but still, a glorious thing.

Well after downloading and installing Hitman Absolution + Hitman Sniper challenge? + Skins + Guns (all came with the Plus free pack) , Catherine, Nascar Inside line and the Poker night 2 demo I was left me with 44 Gig spare so it’s worked out nicely. ;)
Although as Paddy mentioned a 1TB HDD would be a good move and not having to even think about space restrictions for the medium term!

Damn you FC3 blood dragon demo. I’ve just played it and it stops at when it gets really interesting. It does seem good. Should I buy it? Arghh!

Cripes, it took a fair bit of faffing just to add a free dynamic theme to my download list using the web portal, first added it to my basket, after that i had to go into the basket and actually purchase it, then enter my password, confirm and then had to scroll down to click another option so it would auto-download when i switch my ps3 on.. what would i do without the convenience lol..

Everything is available via web store on PC just search for it all even the PS+ titles queue them up and send them over to your PS3 loving this new option just a shame xbox360 had it for years.
Soul sacrifice is available to down load and buy now in the UK but you cannot run it before the start date which is 3rd of May Friday can’t wait its all downloaded and ready to go.
