Sony’s New PlayStation Game “Panopticon” Revealed

The mysterious countdown (countup?) is over, and Sony’s Panopticon – a game teased for a week or so – has been revealed in the form of a trailer.

It’s a Japan Studio game, and looks resolutely Japanese – although it’s a lengthy enough trailer it’s not easy to gauge what the game is actually about.

Have a look, and let us know if you have any ideas.

Hopefully we’ll get some more information on this before E3 in a few weeks – the visual style is nice but it could be almost anything really, although it’s clear it’s a game at least.

    This looks like a mix of Psycho Pass, Logan’s Run and Evangelion.

  2. the numbers on top of their heads look pretty much like Death Note.

    • I was thinking about the movie: In Time.. (2011) although the timer was on the skin..

  5. 0:51 in the vid, the guy getting grabbed gets a blue counter turned into a red counter … and it increments, decrements … the whole nine yards … so … not clear what it is

    • was wrong it is always incrementing and after getting grabbed it turns red … and it _seems_ to increment faster

  7. According to Eurogamer there will be new info about the same day as Microsoft announces their nextbox. In the light of that it has to be a PS4 game.

  8. Looks very much like a JRPG, so I’m guessing Vita. Getting a very Shin Megami Tensei feel from the character designs too. When more information is revealed it should be good stuff. :)

  9. Here is a little fun fact I noticed! At 1:09 in the trailer is shows the monitor with the ultrasound scan of the baby. At the top is says “Verloskundig Centrum”, which is definitely Dutch (it’s the name of the hospital dept. where they do the delivery of babies, dunno what it is called in English).

    Add BigBen to the picture, and it might be possible that the game is situated in Europe. Who knows…
