Ratchet And Clank: Into The Nexus Revealed

The leaks were real: the next game from Insomniac is Ratchet and Clank: Into The Nexus. It’s an “all new original single-player epilogue to the Future games” and comes from Brian Allgeier, the guy behind Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time. And Fuse.

Thankfully the game goes back to the roots of the IP, being a story-driven platform adventure with “a bunch of crazy new weapons and gadgets”. “Gravity is one of the themes of Into the Nexus” says the studio’s James Stevenson, “you’ll experience zero-g space, you’ll use gravity-defying new gadgets, and you’ll manipulate gravity to solve brand new Clank puzzles.”

IGN has the exclusive preview. Yep.

  1. And to cap it off its a PSN game so just turning the wheel.
:-( all that hype for nothing..

    • to be fair, all Sony did was post two pictures.

    • I didnt get ‘hyped’ but I love Ratchet and Clank and really happy about a new game coming out that is a proper single player adventure.

Happy days Insomniac, happy days indeed

  2. Ah, well. Got hyped up for nothing. I’ll stop bothering with PS3 games as soon as I get my PS4 and who knows when this will come out.

  3. Ratchet And Clank games are always welcome. They are fun, look great and make you laugh.

    • And a proper R&C too, not some PS Move title or a completely different genre

  4. Yet another PS3 not PS4 exclusive game to add to the likes of Beyond: Two Souls, Gran Turismo 6 & of course – Grand Theft Auto V… Not to mention all the major cross-generational behemoths like Watch Dogs, Destiny & Assassin’s Creed Black Flag etc.

Makes PS4 at launch a tougher decision than it might have been.

    • True, if half those titles were PS4 exclusive, it would easily be one of the best launches I’ve ever seen.

    • Nope.. PS4 is no tough decision for me.. I was ready to jump ship to XBOX but that ship has sailed… can’t wait to receive the PS4 and hook it up.. (hope for a better experience than the Wii-U.. downloading and upgrading for hours!)

So anyone in for a PS3 (have the launch model (yup no YLOD and plays PS2!) and a slim so pick one ;-) )

ontopic.. have to see this game at a friend..

    • My PS3 is not suddenly disappearing into thin air when I get my PS4 on launch day so once the launch window lineup has dried up, I can still backtrack and play some PS3 exclusives that I might have missed. Of course there are many people who will sell their PS3s to afford a PS4 but I’d say R&C is probably not the biggest reason to hold on to the PS3.

You could also argue the other way around (that’s actually how I look at it). I’m sure there are people who will ditch this gen as soon as possible and either wait for up ports or until those games are available to stream through Gaikai once that service launches.

  5. Looks great, A Crack in Time was the best.

    Just remembered they’re making a movie, too…

    • CiT was the first R&C game that bored me to tears. Got fed up & sold it. ToD is still my favourite one!

  6. Can’t get enough R&C!

  7. I’ve enjoyed them all including the more recent co-op based iterations Q-Force and All 4 One, still waiting for Gladiator in fact. This new game though if anything along the lines of Crack in Time will be a day one no doubt ;)

  8. Looking forward to this, looks like there will be a disc release too.
