EA Sports have released a short teaser clip of Gareth Bale wearing a Real Madrid kit, just minutes after he was officially announced to be joining the Spanish team for a world-record-breaking transfer fee of some £85million yesterday.
EA posted the trailer on their official Instagram page, with Bale appearing in the team line-up alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, before closing with the rather fitting caption of “It just got Real”.
Bale, who has joined Madrid on a six year deal, was previously announced to be the FIFA 14’s cover star – and is still lined up for the gig, according to EA “Gareth Bale remains the FIFA 14 UK cover star alongside Lionel Messi” they told Digital Spy. “In light of his recent transfer we are working closely with his management and we will have an update soon.”
FIFA 14 releases on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC September 27th, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions available at their respective console launches.

£85 million for him. Can’t complain. We have a better squad overall now because of his money, and can’t wait for players like Lamela and Eriksen to gel into the team. Spurs have got a few exciting prospects on their hands!

Its a similar situation to what happened to Madden 09. Brett Favre on the cover had retired at the time of printing, but then came out of retirement to play for the NY Jets. EA put up a link where you could print your own new cover with Favre in a Jets jersey!
