The PlayStation Vita is – at last – to get a Monster Hunter game, namely Monster Hunter: Frontier G, a title that is also set to appear on PlayStation 3 in Japan.

The official site for the game seems to indicate that the Vita version will be cross play with the PS3 version with up to four players attempting quests to battle monsters.

Capcom have always denied any plans of a Vita version of the franchise so it looks like Sony may have persuaded them otherwise.

Monster Hunter: Frontier G  will launch in Japan next year on PS3, Wii U and PS Vita in 2014, the franchise’s tenth anniversary.

  1. Vita really on the up at the moment, lots of things starting to drive sales I hope.

    • I felt a great disturbance in the Force… As if millions of Japanese men suddenly got erections and the suddenly massaged them. I fear Vita Monster Hunter has been announced.

  2. FINALLY! Looks like the Vita is getting the love it deserves. Now if only Sony can bundle this with a Vita TV…

  3. “Monster Hunter: Frontier G will launch in Japan next year on PS3 …”

I thought a November 2013 release date of MHFG on the PS3 (and WiiU) was already confirmed by Capcom a few months ago? Has that changed?

  4. Vita well and truly off now.

  5. Should do well considering the huge queues that formed for the 3DS MH game recently.

  6. Well well look who’s come crawling back.

  7. Shame that as with Phantasy Star Online 2 it’s unlikely to make the jump over here – it’s a vague step in the right direction for the Vita in Japan, but with Monster Hunter 4 just releasing on 3DS to huge sales I can’t see this being the MH title to move Japanese players back to Sony.
