SimCity appears to still be going strong, and EA has decided to release a new expansion that allows city builders to craft a city that is futuristic, with the Cities Of Tomorrow expansion, which is set 50 years in the future and includes a new disaster that will be exclusive to the expansion.
The expansion will also include MegaTowers which are multizonal, and give me the mental image of the towers from Dredd. Other future technologies such as drones that take care of the city maintenance, MagLev transportation, and fusion reactor power will also be available
What the Press Release does omit is the fact the game will remain online only, with no option to play the title offline. It’s a situation that has proven controversial, and one I am not a fan of.
But if you are a fan of the latest SimCity and want the Cities Of Tomorrow expansion, it will release on November 12th though a price was not announced.

I’ve heard the price will be $30, which translates to £30 in EA’s money-grabbing eyes. Not worth it in my opinion. I also read on Reddit that the reason for not doing larger cities was due to performance constraints not allowing the game to cope with the larger population. Surely this expansion (with its taller buildings) proves this idea wrong and maybe EA is looking to make as much money as possible before expanding the plot sizes?
