“We also expect to launch new Call of Duty and Skylanders titles and our major, new potential franchise with Bungie’s Destiny.”
Yes, you heard it here first folks, Call of Duty will return next year, who’d have thought it?
Kotick went on to say that sales of the latest game, Call of Duty: Ghosts, were lower than previous years as people are busy buying next generation consoles.
He also revealed that digital revenues accounted for a whopping 59% of the company’s total net revenues.

What happened to them using UE4?
I bought Ghosts for the 360 as there’s nothing else around really but there’s no way I’ll buy COD for the PS4 unless they put some effort into making it a proper next gen game.

I’ve promised myself not to do it next gen, unless they drastically change the game, like you said. So much more on offer rather than the old and boring. Just look at Killzone and BF4. They look immense compared to Ghosts.

No new engine then this will fail next gen compared to last gen anyway. It looks terrible at the moment, with hardly any fresh ideas.

I remember when developers were complaining about not having enough RAM to make bigger levels and offer new ways to play now the new consoles offer them that they are still going to use the same old crap to make the same old game whereas the competition are making things bigger and better all the time.

Given that 2014 will be the Centenary of the start of World War One they could be doing a WW1 COD – just a thought.

They’ve already done 3 COD WW2 games so I don’t think they will return to that theatre anytime soon – but WW1 would be interesting – Call Of Duty: Passchendaele maybe

The core gameplay mechanics have vastly improved since then, e.g killstreaks, perks, squads etc for online. Plus I’d love another D-Day ‘assault the beach’ style level.
WW1 would be cool I guess, but a lot of it was trench warfare which is why I think WW2 would be a more exciting setting.
