Shock As Activision Reveal They’re Set To Release A New Call Of Duty In 2014

“As we look forward to 2014, we have a very strong pipeline,” explained fan favourite, Bob Kotick, during an investor call. “We expect multiple releases across our major franchises, including the first Diablo 3 expansion and the PS4 version along with significant and exciting new content for World of Warcraft.

“We also expect to launch new Call of Duty and Skylanders titles and our major, new potential franchise with Bungie’s Destiny.”

Yes, you heard it here first folks, Call of Duty will return next year, who’d have thought it?

Kotick went on to say that sales of the latest game, Call of Duty: Ghosts, were lower than previous years as people are busy buying next generation consoles.

He also revealed that digital revenues accounted for a whopping 59% of the company’s total net revenues.

  1. Bloody hell!! I thought I was gonna have to wait at least another year till I got the opertunity to not buy another COD game!……

  2. Had a love/hate journey with COD…

My 1st encounter was with the PC original (which at the time i loved, along with it’s exp.missions, but now find has aged badly, bought again on PSN and ended up not enjoying..), then as an Xbox owner, bought the console exclusive (finest Hour?) followed by COD 3..(which i oddly ended up buying on both PS2+PS3, despite not really liking that much). Then was bitten by Modern Warfare, both SP+MP wise and bought COD II on PC 1st then 360, just blew me away….

But MWII went far too Hollywood spectacular for my liking and MW3 just became an absurd state of affairs, only bothered with BLOPS in SP and that was the last COD i had any inkling to try.

Don’t see bubble bursting as of yet, but there’s def. a leak somewhere as the lack of innovation in games and it’s production line approach is giving diminishing returns and i’ve witnessed the most rabid COD friends of mine leave the current game on the shelf, opting instead for GTA5, which i’d once thought would never happen, as all they bought were yearly updates of COD+FIFA.

  3. The next CoD will be awesome. More time to work on a next gen engine and maybe try to revolutionise fps games. Nit much has changed with the engine since CoD 4.
