Resogun is one of the best looking next generation games I’ve played. The amount of voxels being thrown about the screen after each and every explosion is incredible, and these new videos do a great job of showing that.
The first is a behind the scenes view, with snippets of info from the developers at Housemarque, which shows how it’s all about the gameplay.
“We’ve been able to tap into that exact part of the brain that feels satisfaction when they see shit blow up.” explains the game’s lead programmer, Harry Krueger. Look at the above video at about two minutes and ten seconds in to see how satisfying that is.
It’s definitely a rewarding and fun game, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. If you’re still not convinced, how about a second video which shows off the worlds of the game?
There isn’t as much gameplay as here, but what is shown at the one minute mark looks absolutely incredible, providing YouTube decides to play it in HD.
Resogun will launch alongside the PS4, and will be free for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

I’ve seen a few of these videos as they gave hands-on time to a few websites – it looks fast and challenging and the amount of bits’n’bobs on screen when you defeat a boss looks incredible. This might very well be the first game i play on PS4!

Poor YouTube. The compression is atrocious when the world is being destroyed. However, this is going to look utterly wonderful when played on a decent sized screen at 1080p right in front of the gamers themselves. I’m not a shoot-em-up fan but cannot wait to see how it looks in the flesh.

To be honest, I think there is WAY too much going on screen, I can’t see what the heck I’m meant to be doing. It looks nice and colourful, but not for me.

Games like this make it really difficult to see what’s going on when observing, but when playing it’s much easier, even more so when the craft is in a fixed position horizontally.
Everyone’s different though as we know; I can see why it might be a bit much. It’s free on PS+ for all to have a go themselves and find out.
