Atlus Announce Persona 5 For PS3

Atlus has officially confirmed the existence of three Persona titles, including Persona 5, which will be releasing on the PS3 in Winter 2014. Not much is known about the game so far but it’s happening. That wasn’t the only Persona related news either.

First up Persona 4: Dancing All Night has been announced for a Vita release in Japan. This is a rhythm game that has been co-created between Atlus and Dingo, and it is set to release in Autumn 2014, so if you like Persona and you like rhythm games then this might be for you.

The third Persona announcement was Persona Q: Shadow Of The Labyrinth, which will be released on the 3DS in 2014. The game is an RPG and the story will contain characters from both Persona 3 and Persona 4.

  1. Do you reckon if we wrote enough begging letters they’d swap the vita and 3ds games around?

  2. Being a huge Persona fan (I watched the live stream of the announcements despite not being able to understand a word of Japanese), can’t wait for all three of these games.

Persona 5 is obviously the big announcement but I love the music in the Persona games and also enjoy rhythm action games like Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F, so that should be fun to play. As for the 3DS game, I’m intrigued with how it’ll work, apart from the unusual art style, I wonder how they will incorporate the characters from both Persona 3 and 4 together in a way that doesn’t break the story element.

Only concern is that it may take an age for the games to come to Europe as Atlus do not have a good record of getting games out over here in good time – only need to look at some of the recent games, Catherine, Devil Survivor Overclocked, Shin Megami Tensei IV and especially Persona 4 Arena. They all took upwards of 6 months, if not over a year in some cases compared to America, let alone Japan, to come out over here.
