With the launch of the Xbox One console across Europe came reports of “juddering” pictures when using the console’s TV integration. The problem occurred when a feed from a set-top box, such as a Sky or Virgin Media box, was input via the HDMI-in port. The Xbox One’s refresh rate is 60hz whilst some EU devices use a 50hz television signal, causing frames to be skipped.
Xbox UK’s Harvey Eagle (awesome name) has announced the problem will be fixed this Spring.
“I can’t give you a specific date today, but I can tell you definitely that that issue will be resolved within a matter of weeks as one of the updates that we make to the console,” he told CVG.
“I’m happy to confirm that that will be Spring time frame. I can’t be more specific than that, but it’s weeks, not months.”
It was somewhat of an oversight for Microsoft to forget Europe uses different refresh rates, but at least the problem is being fixed.

It’s simply unbelievable that they didn’t take this into account during development.
Just goes to show how utterly US-centric they are (and even there they’re losing a lot of market share).

Spring is officially classed in the UK as starting on 20th March and ends on 20th June. Anyone want £5 on whether they release the patch within those dates?

Please note: Positive Xbox One story :)

Yet another article about Xbox One and a slower screen refresh. Pathetic. :-P

I’m surprised they remembered to put a UK plug in the box!
