There must be something going around, as both Peter and Lewis were absent for this week’s podcast. Fortunately Teflon stepped into the breach, joining Kev and I on this week’s audio ramble. Despite the reduced crew size, we somehow managed to go on past the two hour mark this week, so be aware that this is a long one.
As per usual, we opened with our pick of the week’s news, including the PS4 VR headset and how weird it would be if Assassin’s Creed were to be set in France, which makes us look rather silly in retrospect. Then it’s onto a lengthy discussion of inFamous: Second Son (led by Teflon), before Kev describes his experiences with DC Universe Online.
Jumping topics wildly, we move from superheroes to Wes Anderson, as I chat about Grand Budapest Hotel, and then shift gears for a quiz from Kev. That’s all followed by answering whatever questions you had on your mind, as is our custom. Oh, and as promised on the podcast, gaze on the nightmare inducing visage of Pierre the Pelican below.

Thanks again for answering my twitter question ^^
Good podcast. Kris sounded tempted to say a few spoilers about inFamous 2, but he didn’t – I’m really proud of you lad.
I watched Blair played inF:SS and the game looks just bonkers. If the story can keep up with the visuals it’s a masterpiece. Glad, Teflon liked it.
I promise I won’t be late for the next one (now since the PSV got an update with Google Calendar sync app).

“look like a Daft Punk helmet”
would that not be a bonus? ^_^
how high does the resolution need to be for a screen a couple of inches from your eye?
there is a little utility on the Wii where you can view what the Wiimote camera can see, only low res and mono, just picking up infra-red light sources.
i’ve used it a few times to check if a remote control is working, just point it at the Wiimote and press a button on the remote and you’ll see it flash, if it’s working.
you know, i’ve thought about having the ability to copy other people’s powers would be cool in a comic book universe.
but it’d be useless in the real world.
if you’re the only person with any power it’d be a worthless power.
anyway, when i do get a PS4, i expect Infamous to be the first game i get.
the first two Infamous games were bloody fantastic.
maybe clothes in the Infamous universe are all made with unstable molecules. ^_^
as meandering as the discussion is in most of your podcasts, you’ve reached a whole new level this week. ^_^
i think Bizzaro is a random encounter in DCUO, he turns up occasionally.
there are a few like that, but they’re usually lower level, much lower.
i don’t think there are any real freemium restrictions, other than the powersets that came with the expansion pack, if you haven’t bought the pack you don’t get the powers, which is fair enough.
from what i’ve seen most of the stuff to buy is just cosmetic stuff.
the Donna Troy themed sets are awesome, that have this sort of starscape effect, like it’s not actually material, but a window into space and you’re looking through it.
very cool.
wait, Peter Andre isn’t an anagram of pretender, there’s no A in pretender.
anyway, the quiz was fun.
did anybody else pronounce ascii as, ay ess see 2?
just me then?
now i know i’m not the only person who used to say seega not sayga, hell the ads used to as well.
i don’t mind a beanie, when it’s cold, but i prefer a Heidi hat, they have the flaps that keep my ears warm.
and if it’s good enough for Jayne, it’s good enough for me.

i always thought Yuna was pretty cute, if she’s up for it i’d suck face with her.
a more important question about Youtube, how much of that content is cat videos? ^_^
