Local multiplayer title Sportsfriends has been given a release date of May 7th for both PS4 and PS3, with Cross-Buy in place if you buy the last gen version. The price advertised is €13.99. I’ll be honest and say I have almost absolutely no idea what’s going on in the trailer, where you see snippets of gameplay then people fighting with Move controllers. While both versions of Sportsfriends are similar there are some console specific features.
The PS3 version of the game will allow up to seven players in JS Joust, and allow people to customise soundtracks in the game mode. The PS4 version will have fewer spots for JS Joust, limited to four, and will use the DualShock 4’s LED and speaker. Other than that both versions will contain four games and the ability to create own Hokra arenas. There will also be an option to use the Move controllers in JS Joust.

Just when I was looking forward to a big game for the PS4… Getting really pee’d off with this lack of decent games for PS4 now. It’s the last time I buy a launch day console.

I dont really understand the anger at buying the console early, its not the first launch i’d have killed for games we have now back in the ps3s first year and its awhile ago but i remember ps2s launch window being horrible.

Clearly this is your first console launch.

The Wolfenstein and Watch Dogs out in a month, the lovely looking Child of Light next week and Bound By Flame in early May too, but I understand your frustration. There’s a lack of RPGs and racing games, in particular, but these things take time.
The only thing I’d say is that it was a fairly known quantity that the PS4’s first year would be very heavily supported by indie games on PSN, that a lot of launch titles would be cross-generational releases and so on. The only real uncertainties were when Watch Dogs and Drive Club would arrive, as they were disappointingly pushed back from day one releases.

Well that looks umm, rubbish, yet another indie title that does not push the boundaries of the PS4. I really hope PS4 does not become an indie console like the VITA has.

Sportsfriends started off as a little collection of indie titles for PC or PS3, which was funded via Kickstarter. Bringing them to PS4 is a bonus for backers in particular, some of whom will have sold their PS3s in order to fund a PS4 purchase.

Without those indie titles, there would have been very little for PS4, just take a look at Xbox One and how little tiles are out for it.
The many indie titles for PS4, means more games to choice from and not only the few AAA multiplatform and AAA exclusives, which is always sparse in the first year after a console launch.

You really are a fool if you expected over 100 AAA games in ps4’s first year. No one asked you to buy the console early so you have to understand how console launches work and game budgets are higher than ever. By end of 2014 you won’t even remember this period after playing destiny, watch dogs, batman, the order, drive club, new BF and COD etc
Cool your jets bro and enjoy all the GOOD indie games coming out now for ps4!
