Lara Croft & The Temple of Osiris, the sequel to the Guardian of Light, was announced a couple of days back by Crystal Dynamics. Now Scot Amos, the executive producer behind the game, has spoken to the PS Blog about what players can expect in the next co-op adventure involving Lara, including who the other three characters are that players can control in the four player multiplayer.
Lara obviously makes a return and in addition to her is Carter Bell, her rival made ally as well as two ancient Egyptian gods, Horus and Isis. The latter two join the mission to stop the evil god Set from bringing havoc to the world, and on a promise that they will remove a curse from Lara and Carter as long as the two humans help. There will be a competitive element embedded within the co-op play as players will be able to make calls to sacrifice each other for more points. There will be a lot puzzles to solve either together or in solo play, and Temple of Osiris will have an isometric look.

Ugh… 4 player co-op. It’s like the gaming equivalent of tacking 3D onto every movie that comes out these days.

Depends on whether it’s local co-op or online co-op. If it’s local co-op then I’m all for it.

Guardian of Light was a cracking game, especially with local coop. Lovely mix of puzzle solving and “accidentally” letting go of the rope and dropping your partner off the edge of a chasm.

Hopefully a single player experience will be possible also as i enjoyed Guardian of Light.
