Season Pass Announced For Shadow Of Mordor

As with most upcoming big-name titles, Monolith’s Shadow of Mordor will also feature a season pass, unlocking a slew of digital content for those willing to shell out a few more quid.

A price for the season pass has yet to be confirmed though Warner Bros. has detailed some of its contents, most of which is targeted at expanding the game’s core singleplayer experience.

Aside from a new Orc Warband mission, pass holders can expect future add-ons which are said to add “hours” to Shadow of Mordor’s stock content. These Lord of the Hunt – a string of tasks which has players scout for the dark realm’s biggest, most insidious beasts- as well as level which features Celebrimbor as a fully-playable character.

Perhaps more interesting is the upcoming “Trials of War” add-on. From the sounds of it, this will be very similar to challenge mode found in Rocksteady’s Arkham series, pitting Talion against waves of enemies. There’s a heavy emphasis here on score-chasing and leaderboards.

Buying a season pass will also grant access to a suite of exclusive skins and runes which can be attached to weapons, giving them added perks.

Shadow of Mordor is fast approaching and will touch down on current-gen consoles as well as PC, PS3, and 360 on September 30th.

  1. I think I’ll give this game a pass… For now anyway, and wait for either a good discount or a GOTY edition with the added content. There’s so much else to play.

No interest in the “trials of war”, but the other stuff sounds cool. I’m hoping Mumakil-hunting is a thing.

  2. I’m becoming more and more sceptical about these ‘season pass’ offers. It basically a gamble for the customer as to whether the additional content will be worth the cash up front or not, and games with additional content like this one aren’t very appealing. I’ll probably get the game but not the additional content, the same as I did for WatchDogs.

    • Agreed. I don’t like the sound of it at all. Tell me it’s DLC. Show me there’s a fully fleshed out title and this is icing. Don’t palm it off as a season pass.
