Kazunori Yamauchi States Gran Turismo 7 To Release In 2015 Or 2016

If you think of a racing title synonymous  with PlayStation then Gran Turismo may be the top answer. After all the series has graced every PlayStation console bar the Vita, and currently the PS4. Kazunori Yamauchi recently had an interview with GamesTM, and in it he revealed what he hoped would be the release window for Gran Turismo 7 on PS4, with the quote below.

“Everything will be running naturally. PS3 was much, much more difficult. The high quality of data that we have being rendered on the PS4 I think is going to make an incredible difference. For GT7, myself and my staff have a clear vision: to do everything we couldn’t do in GT6.

We want to make it very Gran Turismo. By that I mean it’s going to be a game that matches the very era that we live in, in 2015 or 2016.”

Now before you get too excited it might be best to take this with a little pinch of salt. Last year Yamauchi stated that he wanted GT7 on PS4 out as soon a possible, with speculation that 2014 would be the year we’d get the first taste of it. Of course that hasn’t panned out, but hopefully we’ll get more solid in the next few months.

  1. I bet someone’s wishing they were as vague with the date for Driveclub.

  2. Let’s hope it’s 2015 but going by past games it’ll be more like 2016….17….

  3. I bet if we see anything in 2015, it’ll be GT7 Prologue.

  4. Hopefully they’ll concentrate on delivering a great game, not just a solid simulation.

    • Keep your fingers crossed! I’m hoping for a Vita release, if not a fully fledged game then maybe as a companion to the PS4 version. Either would be amazables.

  5. Will it have good AI, sound-effects and no “standard”-cars? I sure do hope so. Until then, Forza Motorsport has filled it’s slot for me. And that’s only got three tracks!

  6. The Messiah has spoken!

This game will be the dogs golden gonads!

I’ve always fancied a 2015 release due to the game being in development even during GT6’s outing. Seriously can’t wait for this console shifter ;)
