The Chinese Room has announced that Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture has now hit the Alpha stage of development, with work now beginning on reaching Beta then eventually going gold. At this stage there will be a lot of quality assurance work to make sure everything in the environment is as it should be. In terms of where Alpha puts the game itself now The Chinese Room wrote:
So by this point the world is locked, scenes are locked, we know what is happening where and when and why and how, but there’s a big difference between that “it works” and “it’s a great game”, which is where we all want it to be.
Next month orchestral and choir recordings will be done, and then the process of intergrating that audio into the game will be one of the main focuses. By this point things like the voice overs will also be retuned so they work with each other. The Chinese Room also stated that there will be no appearances at GDC, and more news on Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture should be expected in March.

Lovely to have a heads-up as well as a bit about the process of development. :-)
