Tropico 5 PS4 Release Date Is April 24th

Kalypso has confirmed the release date for the PS4 version of Tropico 5, and that is April 24th. North America will have to wait a few days as the game won’t launch there on Sony’s console until April 28th. It will be the first major RTS title to release on the console too.

Tropico 5 will also have a limited Special Edition, which includes a Tropico passport, a postcard, and two DLC packs. Those are ‘The Big Cheese’ and ‘Bayo Del Olfato. The game itself puts players in charge of a small republic that must navigate the waters of world affairs, including the Cold War.

  1. Forgot this was coming to PS4 – for those that have played both the PC and console versions, how does it compare with mouse & keyboard vs controller?

    • I played the 360 version of Tropico 3 back in the day, and it was definitely playable, it wasn’t a quick port with keyboard keys mapped to buttons, navigation and selection is different to the PC version.

I will say that I picked up the PC version of 3 and 4 later on and thought it was easier to use, but to be expected I suppose.

  2. Ok, thanks for the reply. I’ll probably aim to pick it up in a Steam sale then as it will be cheaper and slightly better by the sound of it.
