A poster on Reddit has leaked a shot of LEGO Dimensions, Warner Bros. entry in the growing market of video games that have additional collectable toys.
When a mysterious and powerful vortex suddenly appears in various LEGO® worlds, different characters from DC Comics™, Lord of the Rings™ and the LEGO® Movie are swept away. To save their friends, Batman™, Gandalf™ and Wyldstyle™ bravely jump into the vortex to rescue their friends and fight to save all of LEGO humanity.
Let your creativity be your guide as you build the LEGO Gateway to adventure, journeying through unexpected worlds and teaming-up with unlikely allies on the quest to defeat the evil Lord Vortech. Play with characters you never thought you could see in a LEGO game together, using vehicles and weapons you never thought possible. LEGO Bad Copâ„¢ driving the DeLorean Time Machineâ¦why not?! The Ninjago Masters of Spinjitsu fighting alongside Wonder Womanâ„¢…yes, please!
Get ready to break the rules, because the only rule with LEGO Dimensions is that there are no rules.
The starter pack contains the LEGO Dimensions videogame, LEGO Toy Pad, LEGO Gateway building bricks, 3 LEGO minifigures (Batman, Gandalf, and Wyldstyle), and a LEGO Batmobile vehicle.
We are expecting an official announcement later today.
UPDATE: Toys R Us are listing the game for Wii U, Ps3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 with a price of $99.99
UPDATE #2: We have a trailer and official information, LEGO Dimensions releases on September 27 in North America and on September 29 in the UK.
Here’s what else you can add to your collection:Level Pack: Want more to explore? Expand the gaming experience with a level pack which contains a whole new mission-based game level, along with a minifigure, a vehicle and a gadget to build and use in-game.
Team Pack: Want the biggest collection? Get a dynamic pair of minifigures and a vehicle or gadget for each, all with their own unique in-game abilities.
Fun Pack: Want the best variety? Extra fun comes in each pack containing one minifigure and a vehicle or gadget.
Here’s some Key Features that you may find interesting:
– An Extreme Cross-Over. For the first time in any LEGO® videogame, characters from a mix of some of the best brands in the universe join forces and battle in worlds outside of their own. A Dark Knight, a Wizard, and a LEGO® Master Builder travelling together down the Yellow Brick Road is just the beginning…
–Â Keep Expanding. By purchasing additional expansion packs, players can grow their collection with a variety of their favourite brands to create even more crazy combinations.
–Â More is Better. Bring up to seven minifigures, vehicles and/or gadgets into the game all at once by dropping them on the LEGOÂ Toy Pad for the most exciting and action-filled game around.
–Â Play Alone or with a Friend. Players can let imagination guide their solo journey or have a friend join the adventure with co-operative, drop-in/drop-out play.
– The Starter Pack Will Last. The LEGO Toy Pad and the videogame found in the initial Starter Pack will offer continued compatibility with future Expansion Packs for years to come. Like any LEGO building set, LEGO Dimensions is a system of play that offers continued compatibility – everything bought today or expanded with tomorrow will continue to work.
Featured Brands include: DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings, The LEGO Movie, LEGO® Ninjago, Back to the Future,  The Wizard of Oz, and more still to be announced…

most importantly, what about Marvel?
Lego do have the license to make games based on the Marvel properties.
the Marvel Superheroes game was published by Warner.
could be the first Marvel/DC crossover game.
i wonder if the Lego Movie characters will use their stop motion style animation or the more flexible style of the other games.
mind you, looking at the Wildstyle’s pose on the cover, i’d guess the latter.

ok, the that answers my question about the animation style for the movie characters.
still no mention of Marvel though.
gotta say, the Wizard Of Oz inclusion was a surprise to me.
didn’t know Lego even had that license.
