New Assassin’s Creed Game Teased, Full Reveal Next Week

Ubisoft have updated their website, teasing the next game in the hugely successful Assassin’s Creed franchise. Set for a full reveal next Tuesday, the accompanying press release simply says “Join us at 5pm UK time on May 12 for the World premiere of the next instalment of Assassin’s Creed.”

So, not much more to say until then, but, with a cane, knuckle-dusters, and good-ol’ british weather on show, this is the rumoured Victorian London outing, Assassin’s Creed: Victory, isn’t it?

  1. It wasn’t really a video was it, more a dull slideshow of stills.

  2. I used to love the series, but after AC3 I just can’t get into them any more. I borrowed Black Flag from a mate and I think I put half an hour into it, that’s it. While the victorian London setting definitely appeals to me, I know I won’t want to play it without completing BF and Unity first.

    • People praise the sailing sections of Black Flag, but personally I found them to be incredibly dull. The whole game was a boring, boring slog, and I adored the first few games! For that reason alone Unity sits untouched in the drawer, so I think I’d better plod through that and then decide on this one, rather than letting the hype (and hope) get me again.

      • I liked the sailing part, I think it was the heart of the game. But it’s not for everyone. It’s more about a feeling of, well, commanding a ship on the Caribbean, than having lots of things to do all the time.

Assassin’s Creed is a game with lots of faffing about, and a lot of people liked faffing about on the high seas. I still load it up from time to time to cheer me up with a rum-fuelled shanty, the wind at my back.

      • Same as Nicholas with favourites.

Only really ever enjoyed Black Flag and the franchise hasn’t interested me until then. The rinse and repeat formula is only enjoyable if it’s basically lovely from the “off”. With the sailing, it was sublime. The missions and collectables were fun but not as much as Edward Conway’s character and carving my way through mother nature’s waters.

Then again, this is just my opinion so treat it as nothing more than that. :-)

      • I agree with Nicholas also. Sailing the open ocean was the best thing to happen to AC since Ezio. And It’s even better in AC Rogue. I suppose it depends on what you want out of the series but exploration has always been high on my list. AC4 is the perfect game for this and my favourite in the series followed by AC2. Unity was a beautiful game but I’ve already forgotten what it was about. AC4 and AC2 made a lasting impression.

      • Don’t get me wrong, exploring is definitely my favourite part of the AC games. Florence, Venice, Rome, Istanbul have all been fantastic. It’s just the open sea doesn’t hold the same interest for me, even with pirates and sea shanties.

    • Black Flag is my least favourite AC game, in a series which seems to have lost it’s way more and more since AC2. I skipped Unity as a result and i’m quite likely to skip this new game too.

  3. As a self-confessed fan boy……..OOOOooooohhhhhhh!!!!!!! can’t wait

    • I am a fan but slightly less now after Unity, but a Victorian London would up my interest.

      • I liked Unity but there was something not quite right with it, thankfully had no glitches with it like a lot of people. Would like to see a modern day version set in the 21st Century especially given all the back story that has been published in the comic books

  4. I think launch day sales will drop significantly for this one.

Unity turned out to be a great game in the end (after numerous patches) but still, the story really let it down. They need to make this their focus in the next game and try to give us interesting characters that we care about.
