Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Digital Download Sizes Revealed For PS4 & PS3

The digital download sizes for the PS3 and PS4 versions of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain have been revealed. In a nice turn of events, neither are particularly punishing, weighing in at a trim 25.1GB on PS4 and 11.7GB on the PS3. For those with alarmingly finite space (or cruel, merciless ISPs), this would appear to be a bit of good news after a spate of depressing tales surrounding the title. One has to wonder how many megabytes Konami shaved off when diligently removing all those Kojima Productions logos.

So far no details have been released as to the digital sizes for the PC and Xbox versions of the game. It is also unclear as to whether this filesize includes the multiplayer component, Metal Gear Online.

Today also saw Hideo Kojima tweet a new poster for the game, showing Big Boss and Quiet chilling in their new crimson camouflage. The image is a throwback to scenes seen in earlier trailers for the game, showing Big Boss drenched in blood, with his shrapnel horn protruding.

  1. Ooooh, that poster is grim! I hope there’s more hype to come, positive hype with teasers and dark images, not corporate squabbles. The end of the saga is nearly here!

  2. Look at previous posters for the game. There’s a couple others in the same style. Then you realise they moved Big boss further left and Quiet higher up so we could see her chest. Which is why the blood there isn’t done in the same style as her face.

It’s annoying, since the original composition is much nicer.

    • I hope it’s explained properly after the game is out as I find it a bit pathetic to see her moved up in the poster to expose her blood-drenched breasts, etc.

      • It’s actually kinda disturbing I think. I suspect it’s been done deliberately to stir up some controversy. Probably to distract from the Kojima situation.

      • From the start it’s been “what the hell is she (not) wearing?!” and I’m looking forward to a paper-thin excuse. :-)

      • I have a feeling Kojima is entirely happy that there’s a lot of chat about Quiet, she’s gonna lure us into being pervy and drop some massive bombshell. In a bizarre way I’m looking forward to it!

      • I care not about the franchise but I hope she’s a transsexual so it messes with minds of many, MANY adolescent gamers. :D

      • You could be on to something there.

The reason she never speaks could be because her voice is deeper than the one and only seal of love, Barry White.

      • I don’t wanna ruin it but have you guys heard of the transsexual theory in terms of who she was before?

  3. I cannot wait for this, the last (real)MGS game took me months to get everything in the game and I loved getting them and repeating the process over hte years. I hope this has more of the same X 10!, Bring it Konami

  4. I want to know how he’s kept his hair looking like he’s just starred in a Vidal Sassoon advert, after just emerging from the House of Flying Daggers.
