July PlayStation Store Charts: Journey, Minecraft And SARPBC

Sony have posted the July PlayStation store charts and Journey tops the the PS4 list, although many of those downloads will be people grabbing a free version as they already purchased the PS3 game.  God of War III Remastered nabs second place and Driveclub re-enters the charts on the back of the PS+ version.

It’s interesting to note that the games that hang around the top of the boxed products charts – Grand Theft Auto V, FIFA 15 and Call of Duty – chart much lower when it comes to digital editions.

Minecraft continues to conquer all on PS Vita whilst the PS3 chart has a surprising re-entry, jumping up to second place is Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, the predecessor of PlayStation 4’s Rocket League.

  1. Are you sure they’re counting the free cross-buy versions of Journey in that chart? They don’t say anything about it either way. So they might be, or it really could be selling lots of copies to people that never purchased it previously on the PS3.

    • I’ve been reading about plenty of folk picking it up for the first time so I’d love to know if it does count the cross-buy acquisitions or not.

Either way, I’m loving it all over again anyway. Artistically through the roof and a soundtrack from heaven itself. :-)

    • Pretty sure they do, I think they’ve said so before. I’ll double check.

      • I think its just number of downloads. No allowances for whether these were cross buy or actual sales. Could be wrong though.

      • It’s quite possible. Definitely had an email from Sony thanking me for my purchase when I downloaded the PS4 version. So it’s very possible it’s officially counting as a purchase in Sony’s strange systems.
