Ex Criterion Developers Are Working On A “Spirtual Successor” To Burnout

Do we need to report any more than that headline, because that one sentence is enough to make all the staff at TSA thrown money at Three Fields, a dev team set up by ex Criterion staff Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry.

We knew they were working on a multiplayer sports game that will be released early next year but today they tweeted news of a second game.

I’m not a big fan of racing games but adore Burnout. The last game, Burnout Paradise, is one of the few games for which I won the Platinum trophy.

  1. The number of calls for a paradise successor are quite depressing, making Burnout open-world removed a lot of what made it great in the first place for me. Though I do understand that for many people open-world is a superior approach, I sincerely hope they’re going for a successor to Takedown, not Paradise.

    • Agreed. Burnout 3 was my favourite by far.

  2. I didn’t like Burnout Paradise at all so if it’s another open-world game i probably won’t be interested.

  3. If like a paradise 2 myself. I was never fortunate enough to play previous iterations.

  4. Can’t belive I’m the only one who wants Point of Impact (burnout 2). That was by far the best. Best cars, best game play, best tracks and best crash mode.

  5. Successor to 3 please!

  6. If it’s anything like the new Need for Speed it
will be hot as. Got myself and invite for the closed beta it’s a beautiful looking game

  7. A successor to takedown and i will be overjoyed!! If they dont have the rights to burnout name then Takedown will do just fine!!!
