December has arrived, meaning that last night was my work Christmas party, which (fingers crossed) I managed to survive without making a fool of myself! I bet some of you here must have a few good stories from previous years?
Share yours and I (might) share mine in the comments for this week’s Community Round-Up!
Looking at the Meets, chances are that Monday will see the usual Project CARS meet, with the odd Rocket League or GTA V Meet thrown in elsewhere.
If you’d rather play something else, you can add your own Meet to the list, provided you have more than 250 TSA Points.
There was a small flurry of reviews this week as it seems the last few major titles are now hitting the shelves, just in time for Christmas. Our high score award went to Xenoblade Chronicles X, which received a 9/10 from Dom. Describing it as “a genuinely enthralling game”, he called it “one of the most involving, creative and expansive open worlds ever created”.
Next up we had another open world game, this time Just Cause 3. If you enjoy explosions, exploring and general larking about, then you’ll probably find that the game is to your liking. The only thing holding it back is the technical issues, which means it sits on a 7/10. If you’re still on the fence, you can check out Tef’s video to see what all those explosions look like. Also on a 7/10 was Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros.. Dave said it was enjoyable with nice light hearted moments, however the final bosses ruin it, as does the use of the Amiibo figures.
Following that, we had Sword Art Online: Lost Song on a 6/10. Dom called it an ‘average’ title, while this spot was shared with Rainbow Six Siege, also on a 6/10. Stefan praised the tactical gameplay, but couldn’t overlook the lack of single player and poor AI. Rounding things out on a 5/10, Jim was not particularly impressed by Primal Carnage: Extinction.
Just like last week, there wasn’t much on the preview side of things. In Story of Seasons, Jim enjoyed getting back into the rebranded Harvest Moon series, although found it didn’t ‘wow’ him as much as the old ones. Meanwhile, Teflon had a quick look at The Battle of Jakku for Star Wars Battlefront which adds a new planet to battle upon, before falling Head Over Heels for a nostalgic puzzle platforming of Lumo. The surprise release of Beyond: Two Souls for PlayStation 4 this week then saw Tuffcub return to another of Quantic Dreams’ unique adventure games.
In the Open Forum, Kris asked what makes a good Videogame Movie, as the Chronicle tackled PS4 sales figures, Remote Play via PC, and DoA X3’s western release.
Just before we finish, it was a very busy week for the Podcast crew. First they talked about Star Wars Battlefront in Episode 203, followed by a chat with Paul Rustchynsky (aka Rushy) from Evolution Studios about how his 2015 went. Finally, Teflon described his 2015, and of course there was What We Played #232.

Let’s check into the Forums:
- Del wants to know how your Fallout Settlements are getting on?
- And Youles wonders what’s on your radar for 2016?
Well that’s it for this Round Up. Have a good week!

Last night was great fun, with the added excitement of running for the last tube home to top it off!

Got into Beyond Two Souls this week on my PS3, and I have to say it is the most cinematoc gaming experience I ever had.
Sometimes the times button mashing annyos me but the story telling is very impressive. I heared some people hate the cronological order of the events but so far it didn’t bother me.
