Fight On The Death Star With The Forthcoming Star Wars Battlefront DLC

EA have mapped out the road ahead for Star Wars Battlefront including some of the DLC that will be dropping as part of the season pass. Here are the maps, along with a rough release date:

  • Outer Rim (March 2016) – Fight among the factories of Sullust and battle within Jabba the Hutt’s palace on Tatooine
  • Bespin (Summer 2016) – It’s hunt or be hunted in this action-packed experience set in the Cloud City of Bespin
  • Death Star (Fall 2016) – That’s no moon! One of the most iconic locations in the Star Wars universe makes its debut in Star Wars Battlefront.
  • Expansion Pack 4 – Title TBA (Early 2017) – We will have more details to share about this exciting new expansion pack in the coming months.

A free update launching tomorrow will bring the following content:

  • The Tatooine Survival map will now support the Blast, Droid Run, Drop Zone, Hero Hunt, and Heroes vs Villains multiplayer modes, and is called Raider Camp.
  • New Hoth-themed outfits for Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, both of which will be available to all fans when they play as these two iconic characters on the Hoth – these were unlocked by our players for completing our Heroes’ Holiday community mission last month.
  • We are giving players the ability to create Private Matches, which makes playing with friends even easier.
  • The introduction of Daily Challenges and Community Events. These are designed to rally the Community around certain goals and objectives, giving players the chance to earn credits and unlocks even faster. We’ll have more news regarding Community Events and Daily Challenges in the days ahead.
  • And of course, we are also including some overall balancing tweaks to both weapons and multiplayer modes.

There will also be a new map on Endor which will be released in March.

  1. Damn you EA for bringing awesome content behind a season pass that costs the price of the game alone. Bespin is going to looking bloody amazing in that game (they’ve surely got to add some cool air vehicles to that as well).

  2. I’m sure that I commented on this site some way back that the Death Star would feature as an X-wing and Tie Fighter vehicle based map, most likely a type of Rush mode where defences get taken out until the exhaust port becomes available to blast.

    • Yep, that would be awesome – If it were a thing, I may consider a purchase just for that!

    • You did say that and I also said it would be awesome, and it still would! I’ve got s new idea, the Rebels have to keep beating waves of Tie Fighters until they progress across the Death Star reach the trench, then the Imperial players start spawning in turrets as the Rebels have a limited number of goes at doing the run. It could be called… wait for it… Rebel Assault!

  3. Sounds cool and all. But this still had to already be in the game at release. For a game that pretty much only has multiplayer, this even feels as weak DLC.
