There Have Been Over 5 Billion Streams On Spotify Via PlayStation

A year ago Spotify teamed up with Sony and brought the music app to PlayStation and it seems to have been a roaring success with over 5 billion streams of music in the first year. I wonder how Nintendo and Napster are getting on?

Saturday is the most popular day to listen to Spotify across the world on PS4, PS3, and Xperia devices but PlayStation owners in the U.S.A. peak on Friday evening. Rather fittingly, (sadly not Nathan) Drake is the top artist on the consoles.

  1. Interesting stats, handy app too. Love blasting tunes while grinding through games.

  2. Who the hell is Fetty Wap and what kind of name is that????

    • Get with it grandad.

      • Just because you know who they are doesn’t make it right. :D

      • I don’t know who he is either, but I’m still giggling like a schoolboy!

      • I thought I was but I’m now re-evaluating my life.

    • He looks like a cross between a pirate, Dhalsim and a smackhead.

      • How does he? Cause he’s blind in one eye?

  3. That’s a lot of shite.

  4. That’s nothing – 500 billion flies eat poo.

  5. Not surprised though I always stream custom playlists & albums using my tablet as the control interface (usually alternated with the Destiny app).

The integration of using alternative Devices with your mobile / tablet was a masterstroke in my opinion. :)

  6. A right load of tosh in those charts there.

  7. I don’t have any idea what any of those most popular streamed tracks are and have no intention in finding out either. Didn’t realise TLOU soundtrack was on there – I’ll give that a listen when I need to chillout at work.

  8. More interesting would be the spread of games people listening to those songs played. Indeed, the top tracks for a variety of games would be interesting.

  9. Top artist listed there apart from Justin, I contributed to drake & fetty wap.

  10. Cool. Not typically my taste, but dare I say one ore two of Justin Bieber’s recent songs are listenable.

    • If you want a dare, print that on a T-shirt and head down your local decent music pub. Otherwise, some things you should just take to the grave man.
