The Witcher III’s Second Expansion Sounds Huge

In a recent interview with GameStar, developer CD Projekt Red has spilled the beans on its second Witcher III expansion. Although not a full-blown expose, there’s enough beans here to keep fans sated as we edge closer to release day.

The Polish studio has yet to confirm when Blood and Wine will launch, though they expect Geralt’s latest adventure to go live before this year’s E3.

In terms of scale, Blood and Wine’s new environment is said to rival Skellige’s total landmass. That’s pretty huge, even when you discount the huge body of water surrounding this snow-covered peninsula of islands.

As revealed a few days ago, the expansion will feature a new deck for Gwent fans to collect and play with.

The developers also talked about the Witcher series in general. According to a translation of the interview, they have no plans to remaster previous instalment, though are considering a Game of the Year edition for The Witcher III.

  1. When they are referring to the Gwent cards are they referring to physical or in-game?
I loved how they released a real card deck with the last expansion.
